Hello friends and subscribers to Musicians of the Midnight Sun! I thought this is an opportune time to write a brief note to say thanks to all of you for your support of the MMS website and podcast series.

This note will serve as a milestone to celebrate the first 10 interviews and wrap up series 1 of the podcast episodes. Your many engagements and comments to the podcast episodes so far has been and continues to be fantastic!

My hopes and goals for this podcast series have come to fruition and so much more. I am so pleased that I decided to move forward with the podcast format bringing these epic life and musical stories to you, the audience, in a more concise, convenient and comfortable format.

These 10 interviews were the first ones I gathered starting in 2003. At the time, I didn't even have any idea of what I was going to do with these interviews. Since then, 3 of the interviewees, Archie Loutitt, Alex Czarnecki and Wilf Schidlowsky have passed on.  I feel fortunate to have documented their stories and dedicate the project to their memory and contribution to the northern music scene and to the musicians they mentored along the way, myself included.

The second series continues with stories from some of the musicians and educators who directly influenced my own development as a musician and many others along the way. Some share epic historical stories of their families and communities and still others bring a spiritual context to the music they create.

There is a wide swath of historical, musical experience in this second series to be enjoyed by everyone!

I would like to once again, express my sincere thanks to all of you for your support of the MMS project so far.

If I could ask you to share widely and if possible, to donate what you can to the future development and continuation of the project.

Musicians of the Midnight Sun was born from and is recorded and produced in the Old Town of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.
